Foundations of Biblical Counseling

Christians possess the greatest manual of human nature ever composed, namely the Bible.  While culture has attempted to develop an answer for “soul cure” via humanistic philosophies void of God, the only answer adequate to confront and bridle the nature of fallen man is found in the person of Jesus Christ.  Sadly, the Church has often been intimidated by the “scientific” jargon of psychotherapy, submitting the counsel of the believer to the “expert” in psychology who, at best, may view Jesus as a footnote in confronting emotional, psychological, and behavioral issues.  The Foundations of Biblical Counseling (FBC) is a 20-hour course that confronts this trend, placing Jesus Christ and his Word center-stage in the ministry of soul care.  Designed to equip the body of Christ with Truth sufficient for ministry in the realm of counseling, FBC points to the wisdom of God as far superior to the wisdom of Man in understanding and addressing the human condition.  Calling on believers to take their rightful position in “heart ministry”, FBC provides a broad, yet thorough foundation from which pastors, churches, and individuals may build an effective counseling ministry.
