Biblical Counseling is as old as the Church itself. Almost from the inception of the Church one can observe how those who became burdened with life's problems and struggles turned to the Church leadership to help them find Godly direction. The Biblical Counselor continues in that tradition.

As a Biblical Counselor, I partner with local church leadership as I assist my clients to come to a better understanding of God's calling on their life within the context of their struggles and to seek Biblical answers to life's problems, issues, and hurtles. I then help them work to apply those principles with a goal of becoming and experiencing that which God created them to be and experience.

There are three words in our statement of purpose that give texture to its meaning: Gospel-centered, pastoral, and accessible. Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor for women - ages 12 and up - in all areas of relationships, trauma, crisis, substance abuse, transitions, roles – parent/child, wife, in-laws and work setting issues. We each have a particular temperament that drives us in these issues. When we are able to understand ourselves and the uniqueness God has created in each then we can begin to understand others and why they affect us the way they do and why we affect them the way we do. We are to polish our strengths and chip away at our weaknesses. 1 Corinthians 6:19 tells us we are vessels housing the living God. John 1:12,13 reminds us that we are chosen to be His vessels. And 2 Timothy encourages us that we are equipped for every good work.

This year marks our fiftieth year of marriage and we are celebrating every month. We raised four daughters who love the Lord and serve in their respective churches. We are proud grand parents of eight grand daughters and two grand sons. Since 1994 I have been teaching at a college in the Home Economics Family and Consumer Science department in the areas of Women’s Issues, Family Living, Child Development, Women in Society and Principles of Parenting. I have the joy of developing and teaching an eight week course for young women called “Gracious Girls” which is a character building course focusing on etiquette and manners. Biblically Centered Counseling

Biblical counseling is based on two Greek words: noutheteo or nouthesia and parakaleo or paraklesis. The first is directive and confrontational and the second stresses comforting, encouraging and supporting.

I like what Paul David Tripp states in Instruments in the Redeemers Hands. "Personal counseling ministry is not just about confronting people with principles, theology or solutions. It confronts people with the God who is active and glorious in his grace and truth, and who has a rightful claim to our lives. Only as our hearts are transformed by his glory will the principles of Scripture make any sense to us."

My professional training includes four earned degrees (BA, BTh, MDiv, DMin) plus studies at Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation, Laverock, PA (see www.ccef.org ) that resulted in my certification with National Association of Nouthetic Counselors, ( www.nanc.org ) in 1977.
